On the birthday of the great poet, thinker Abai Kunanbay KF “Endument KAZGYU” announces a contest for the best essay about the founder of the new Kazakh national written literature and Kazakh literary language.

The work should be in the Kazakh language and not exceed 500 words. The winners will be selected by the graduates of 2003 who provided an annual nominal scholarship for university students.Essays should be sent to the endowment@kazgukz by August 8. Summing up and awarding the winner will be held on August 10.

Charity race “Run for Sabina”

MNU 30 years is an annual charity race with 3.5.10 km. This year the partner of the competition was OO ” Federation of Triathlon of Astana”. This year the race is dedicated to Sairan Sabina Bauyrzhanova, a 1st year student of MNU. Unfortunately, doctors diagnosed Lymphoblastic leukemia. Sabina is currently fighting for life in Israel. In this regard, we encourage you to take an active part in the race. All you need to register and pay the starting fee of 5000 tenge. Issue of starter sets( T-shirt, water, map, program) will be held on May 19, 2023. from 9 am to 19 am 30 h in MNU.. Age categories:. *Children’s relay race( 350m)-6-10 years. *3km,5km,10km- older than 17 years. The winners of the 3km, 5km, 10km in the absolute age category are awarded with a medal, a certificate and valuable prizes. All finishers receive a medal. Unfortunately, our student Sabina suffers from cancer, which requires comprehensive treatment. As you know, the main mission of our university is to serve the public.Following this principle, during the marathon we have raised more than 2 million for a student and her family. About 300 participants came to the charity marathon.

It should be noted that the speaker at his 26 years became a political civil servant, taking the post of deputy head of the Department of socio-economic monitoring of the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan. A year later, at the age of 27, he became vice-minister of industry and new technologies and further contributed to the development of the country as the Chairman of the Board of JSC ” Enterprise Development Fund “Damu”. In addition, has international experience, for 3 years worked in international consulting in Dubai.

The information session has a charitable purpose, the collected funds will be used to pay the student who applied to the CF “Endowment KAZGUU”.

Today marks the 7th anniversary of the Corporate Foundation “Endowment KAZGUU”!

General information

Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAF) announces a local scholarship Sur-Place to support talented young people in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

Who can participate?

To be a scholar of Foundation you have to be a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who is studying full-time at one of the universities in Kazakhstan and who passed selection procedure. At the time of applying for a scholarship the applicant must not be older than 30 years.

The advantage in the competitive selection is given to students participating in the socio-political life of the country and having an active life position. Knowledge of a foreign language is welcome, but not required.

Scholarship terms

The scholarship will be awarded for 1-6 months (with the possibility of extension). The scholarship payment period will be set individually.

The amount of scholarship is 80.000 Tenge per month.

Competitive selection process

Future scholars of the KAF will pass a two-stage competitive selection process: submission of a package of documents and an interview.

There is no deadline for application. Admission is all year round, however, students of the final year of master’s or bachelor’s program should take into account the time for reviewing documents. By the decision of the Selection Committee of the “KAZGUU Endowment” Corporate Fund, four students of the School of Liberal Arts at M.Narikbayev KAZGUU University majoring in “Journalism: Analytics and Investigations” were awarded full university tuition in the framework of charitable assistance. Each year KAZGUU Endowment CF looks for grants and scholarships for the University’s gifted students. In the past two years, the Fund has supported talented young people with grants, tuition discounts and scholarships.
During this time, the Fund has provided about 50 grants, and 50%, 60%, 75%, and 100% tuition discounts financed by sponsors, partners, and also graduates of KAZGUU University. Several students are receiving a monthly stipend of 25,000 tenge, and the University’s best 12 students are also recipients of the 25,000 tenge monthly scholarship.
At the end of last year, one of our partners – KazMunayGas Legal Council, which works under the KazMunayGas Board – established a student scholarship programme for KAZGUU students.
A competition for the scholarship was held in two stages; the terms of the competition were posted on the websites of KazMunayGas and KAZGUU University.
The first stage was a preliminary selection of applications and an evaluation of the applicants’ research papers on “Topical issues of legal regulation in subsoil use of hydrocarbons”.
At the second stage, the contestants defended their papers before the selection committee headed by Ardak Mukushov, managing director of KazMunayGas Legal Support. The committee also included:

– Daniel Vaisov, Managing Director for Administrative and Legal Support of PSA LLP;
– Marlen Orazbekov, Managing Director of KazMunaiGas EP for Legal Issues;
– Valentina Lebed, Candidate of Law, co-author of comments to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Subsoil and Subsoil Use”;
– Zhanna Bayseitova, Director of KAZGUU Endowment Corporate Fund;
– Dariga Kurmanova, a member of the Executive Committee of the Kazakhstan Lawyers’ Union, member of the Coordinating Council of the International Union of Lawyers, Executive Director of the Legal Centre “Zenesh”.
On June 27, 2018, in KazMunayGas committee finalised the results of the competition, and announced the winners:
first place – Bolat Bekbolatovich Kabylov, 3rd-year Jurisprudence student;
second place – Abugaliev Syrymbet Maakhambetovich, 3rd-year Jurisprudence student;
third place – Moldakhmetova Galiya Andreyevna, 3rd-year Jurisprudence student.
In addition, the Committee awarded letters of appreciation to Erezhepov Manas Bagdatovich and Asainova Laura Sabyrbekkyzy for their participation in the competition.
In conclusion, the Chairman of the Committee Ardak Mukushov expressed gratitude to the members of the Council, the Committee, and KAZGUU University for their help in organising the competition, noting the importance of supporting talented youth.

On Saturday, the recent changes in the national legislation were discussed by practicing lawyers, employees of construction companies, representatives of state bodies and Kazakhstan’s banking sector. KAZGUU is running a short professional development course for its graduates that is dedicated to the issues of the institute of court representation, and civil procedural and tax legislation.
Ester Babadzhanyan, senior lecturer of KAZGUU, presented a review of changes in the civil procedural law with a focus on the institute of jurisdiction and representation, changes in judicial acts, and conciliation procedures.
“As a practicing lawyer, I was very pleased to participate in the seminar, which was full of useful information,” said Bakhtiyar Galimzhanov, representative of the Pavlodar Regional Bar Association.

On the eve of Independence Day, a graduate of KAZGUU University offered scholarships and tuition fee discounts for 28 students of his alma mater. Thanks to this gratuitous act, some students who applied for financial support to the KAZGUU Endowment Fund received funding for the next academic year.
The director of the Fund, Zh. Bayseitova, noted that “this act should serve as motivation for students and is a vivid example of the continuity of generations of our University’s students.”
KAZGUU Endowment Fund has been operating for more than a year. With the active support from the graduates and sponsors of the university, many students have managed to get financial support and comfortable conditions for training.
It should be noted that in the 2016-2017 academic year, the Fund provided 6 grants and 4 scholarships, and renovated 11 sponsored lecture halls. For the 2017-2018 academic year, the KAZGUU Endowment Corporate Fund has already raised funds for 27 grants, including 10 grants for the entire period of study, 4 scholarships and 13 tuition fees discounts ranging from 50% to 75%.

First- to third-year students of KAZGUU University are invited to take part in the competition for scholarships named after O. N. Shaykenov and M. S. Narikbayev. The competition is run by the Endowment Fund in cooperation with KAZGUU University Alumni Association.

In total, 10 scholarships will be awarded to candidates that meet the following criteria:

GPA for the 1st semester of the 2017-2018 academic year is not lower than 3.67 (transcript);

Active participation in KAZGYU student life (certificates, diplomas);

On 11 November 2017, the KAZGUU Endowment Corporate Fund and M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University JSC, at the initiative of the KAZGUU Alumni Association held the First KAZGUU Alumni Charity Ball.

The ball took place in one of the best hotels in Astana – St. Regis. The evening was hosted by Zhasin Kanbayev, a popular showman. The graduates of KAZGUU were happy to see their old friends, and university teachers whose lectures once launched their professional journeys. The organisers managed to raise 2 426 000 tenge at the ball. Part of this money was allocated for a scholarship for a pupil at an orphanage in Astana to cover the tuition fees at KAZGUU in 2018-2019. In addition, two scholarships were established, and named after two prominent Kazakh scholars, Professor N. A. Shaykenov, D.J.S. and Professor M. Narikbaev, D.J.S.

A new classroom, sponsored by the international English language training centre EF Education First, was has been launched at KAZGUU University. EF is well known around the world as a leader in education abroad.

The official ceremony was attended by the director of EF Kazakhstan, A. Zhunusova; as well as the leadership, staff, and students of KAZGUU University.

In his welcome speech, M. Daulenov, Deputy Chairman of KAZGUU Board, noted that the newly renovated classroom, located next door to the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of the Language Training Centre at the School of General Education, will become a launching pad where partners will be able to run joint projects, including piloting and implementing the cutting-edge teaching methodology.

The new classroom is equipped with a multimedia system, laptop, projector, an interactive whiteboard, and a separate Wi-Fi point providing comfortable conditions for studying the English language.

KAZGUU started the cooperation with EF in December 2016, when they signed a Memorandum on collaboration in the field of education and research. Part of this cooperation are language training programmes for students and teachers, and online language proficiency testing.

March 27 p.m. in 242. M.S. Narikbayev University officially presented certificates to the first group of specialists who have completed professional short-term training courses as part of charitable assistance to the socially vulnerable category of Astana.

The first group of graduates (a cashier-accountant, a clerk, a programmer, a seamstress and a beauty salon master) were awarded certificates attesting to the qualification. In addition, CAHDI will assist in the subsequent placement of new specialists as required. Recall that the social project «Profession from KAZGUU» was launched on March 1.

Within this framework, GACSU continues three-stage training of specialists in several areas. In total, by the end of May, KAZGUU plans to train more than 60 people. Short-term training courses for representatives of socially vulnerable categories of the population – poor families, unemployed, orphans and people with disabilities are held in honor of the anniversary of the Corporate Fund «Endowment KAZGUU».

Nadezhda Korobko, Deputy Chairman of the Board of KAZGUU: Imparting professional skills will be a good motivation and a unique opportunity for people, including those registered at the Employment Center of the Mayor’s Office of Astana, to improve living conditions, and in the future will allow them to adapt in a competitive professional environment». The whole year 2017 for the University is held under the auspices of the large-scale charity action «Do Good with KAZGUU».

On 1 March, KAZGUU University is launching a new project, aimed at reducing unemployment by training the jobless citizens of our country in professional skills that are in high demand.

Professional training of future specialists is planned in several popular fields: cashier-accountant, document processing, computer literacy, and sewing.  Short courses for socially vulnerable categories of people – financially disadvantaged families, orphans, and disabled people – are conducted as part of the celebrations of Kazakhstan’s Thanksgiving day and “KAZGUU Endowment” Corporate Fund’s anniversary.

Nadezhda Korobko, the deputy Chairman of KAZGUU Board, noted that learning professional skills will be a good motivation and an opportunity for people from socially vulnerable categories to improve their living conditions, and, in the future, will allow them to adapt to the conditions of modern life.

Translation Studies students of KAZGUU Higher School of Economics who have achieved outstanding results in their studies and social activities, will receive financial support from the University’s alumni.

This was announced at the launch of Evgenia Sekhimbayeva’s book “100% Success: useful tips for self-boost”.  The author of the book is a graduate of KAZGUU’s Business Law Department.  She graduated in 1999 with an honours degree.  At the moment, Evgenia is the owner of one of the translation companies contracted by EXPO 2017.

A major financial institution in Central Asia and the largest private bank in Kazakhstan sponsors a lecture hall at the Law University.

The decision on collaboration in this format was made at the end of last year.  Currently, the work on renovation, design and technical refurbishment of the multimedia and multifunctional room are nearing completion. 

The launch of the lecture hall will be attended by the Chairman of the Board, Kenes Rakishev, who is a graduate of KAZGUU and an active contributor to the Corporate Fund “KAZGUU Endowment”.  For many years, he has been providing financial support to the students of his alma mater. 

QAZKOM partners will have an opportunity to use the refurbished room for business-related events and give lectures to the students of the university.

One of the youngest students at KAZGUU University, Abdulaziz Zhangaliev, is a first-year student of the International Law Department.  Despite his young age – the young man is only 15 years old – Abdulaziz is fluent in foreign languages and successful in his studies, manages to find time for sports, and has a black belt in Tae kwon do.

As Abdulaziz pointed out, his choice to study at KAZGUU was greatly influenced by the fact that his father was also a one-time student of the same University, which to this day has preserved an outstanding team of professors and instructors, an undisputed achievement of the University’s heads.

Upon graduating from KAZGUU, Abdulaziz plans to embark on a career in international law, or to devote his life to diplomatic service, representing Kazakhstan in the global space.

Over the past six months, university studies have awakened in Abdulaziz diligence, pursuit of new knowledge, and an increased interest in a number of disciplines, including economics and psychology. All his spare time now he spends in the library, in the company of books and literary works, planning to receive several degrees from the best universities around the world.

Traditionally, such talented and versatile students are provided with support. In the near future, patrons of the university are planning to establish a scholarship to give the most active students of the university an opportunity to study at KAZGUU for free.

A patron of the Corporate Fund “KAZGUU Endowment” has provided financial support to Sabina Mukhamatnurova, a 1^st-year student of the university.  The sponsor, who wished to remain anonymous, paid the student’s tuition fees for a year.

Having lost her parents’ support, Sabina was left in a difficult financial situation.  Now, thanks to the timely help provided by the sponsor, she has an opportunity to continue her education.  In the future, Sabina is planning to pursue a career in law enforcement.

We are glad to see that in their noble actions, people are guided by high and forever unyielding moral and spiritual values, such as humanity, compassion, and humility.

Representatives of KAZGUU University once again visited the students of the capital’s SOS Village to wish them a happy new year.  Warm words and greetings on behalf of the university’s management were delivered by the Deputy Chairman of KAZGUU Management Board, Mr. N. Korobko.

The Director of the Corporate Fund KAZGUU Endowment, Ms. Zhanna Bayseitova, gave children the presents.  In addition, the guests brought the good news that the children will have an opportunity to continue their education at KAZGUU, as a result of a recently signed memorandum between KAZGUU and SOS Children’s Village Astana.  The decision has been made to establish two scholarships for the best graduates of the Village.

In turn, the staff of the Children’s Village expressed their deep gratitude to the guests for their active support of the students, and marked the university’s charitable contribution with letters of appreciation addressed to Mr. Narikbayev, KAZGUU’s Rector; Mr. Korobko, the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board; Ms. Bayseitova, the director of theEndowment Fund; and Mr. Tleubayev, a patron of the Endowment Fund and the head of APK-Invest Corporation.

The university has initiated a range of social projects in higher education, including the Path to Future project, which provides young people with an opportunity to study at the country’s leading university.

As part of the celebrations of Kazakhstan’s Independence anniversary, the capital’s Business Women’s Council organised professional master-class workshops for KAZGUU students.

The guests shared their professional experience in building successful businesses and told the students about the opportunities that are provided today by the state for the development of youth entrepreneurship. 

Korobko, Vice-Chairman of KAZGUU, informed that at the moment the university is launching a project to support student start-ups.  “At KAZGUU an expert group will be created that will assess business ideas and student projects.  It will also provide organisational and financial assistance to the most promising ones.  This will include, for example, help with attracting investors, obtaining state subsidies, etc.”, noted N. Korobko.

At the meeting, the students presented an innovative project on protecting the rights of convicts in Kazakhstan.  This project was the winner of the Capstone Project competition, part of which was the research on the convicts’ rights.  They informed the audience that, based on the results of this study, they will develop recommendations for improving the national programmes in criminal penal law, criminal procedural law, and international law.

In addition, there was a presentation of the special issue of the magazine Women. East-West dedicated to the Independence anniversary, called “Kazakhstan today.  Astana women’s faces”.

As part of the long standing collaboration, an agreement has been reached on naming an auditorium in KAZGUU University after Astana Women’s Council.  According to B. Twenty-five outstanding graduates of several rural schools in Kazakhstan will study at KAZGUU “Law Enforcement” programme for free.  This is a joint present from KAZGUU University and Investment Industrial Corporation ZHERSU to the gifted children to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence.

On the eve of the Independence Day celebration, the parties signed a Memorandum on Cooperation, which includes social support for the gifted students from Zhylandy and Lepsinsk townships of Almaty region.

Ten scholarships will be paid for by KAZGUU, as part of the concession programme, and 15 more will be provided by IIC ZHERSU.

According to B. Ospanov, the Vice-President of Kazakhstan Boxing Federation and head of ZHERSU corporation, today KAZGUU University is one of the first law schools in the country whose efforts to fight corruption in the minds of students are recognised by the government.  Relevance of this Memorandum is associated with the strong need for qualified specialists in the Law Enforcement agencies, as part of the implementation of the Principles of Anti-Corruption Enforcement.

This subject has already been discussed at a recent meeting in KAZGUU, when a well-known public figure delivered a guest lecture on the issues of promoting Kazakhstan on the international arena.  Addressing the students of the law school, B. Ospanov wished that the future graduates of KAZGUU would “create just laws” aimed at eradicating corrupt motives.

Thus, the country’s leading law university is systematically pursuing the mission of providing quality and accessible education to all the citizens of Kazakhstan.

As part of the strategic partnership the parties plan to jointly develop the domestic sphere of education. In particular, it provides for the organization and holding of research and practice meetings, seminars and conferences with the participation of representatives of relevant institutions and agencies.

The events of this magnitude will involve competent experts with a degree (doctors, academics and Candidate Sciences) and who have practical experience and theoretical wealth of knowledge on certain topics.

In addition, the format of cooperation provides for the joint informational support aimed at promoting the services provided, the active interaction between students, faculty and researchers.

The management of the Corporate Fund Endowment KAZGUU has recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with the SOS “Astana Children’s Village” for the provision of joint support to gifted orphans. Initially, within the framework of the agreement, 2 11th grade students of the children’s village will attend an Intensive English program. After completing the course, the students will have the opportunity to study at JSC KAZGUU University.

Also, with the help of patrons of the Fund the children will be provided free accommodation at the hostel.

JSC KAZGUU University and PF ANA Uiyi signed a memorandum of cooperation in which a joint charity project “Zhas ana – bіlіmdі ana” («Young mother is well-educated mother») will be implemented. The project was launched with the support of the charity Fund Endowment KAZGUU and offers social educational grant to young unwed mothers with minor children.

Thus, single mothers will have the opportunity to receive higher professional education in a leading law university of the country free of charge or at a discount.

Currently KAZGUU appears the first and only initiator of the social projects which offer educational grants for representatives of socially vulnerable categories of the population, gifted graduates of schools, lyceums, holders of merit certificate “Altyn Belgi”, the winners of national competitions and other promising children.

As noted by Nadezhda Korobko, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC KAZGUU University, these projects contribute to the achievement of the University’s main mission – to serve the people, giving them the opportunity to receive high-quality and affordable education in Kazakhstan.

Let us recall that this year KAZGUU has already allocated 10 educational grants and coupon certificates for young mothers under the similar national contest “Anashym”. Currently, young mothers successfully continue their education at the University on the basis of distance education for free. In addition, in the new 2016-2017 academic year, more than 50 secondary school graduates and holders of merit certificate “Altyn Belgi” have been provided with Rector’s grants. Thus, the university is systematically implementing the goal – support for talented young people who will enter the constellation of highly qualified specialists of the new generation of the country.

This year more than 50 candidates from all regions of Kazakhstan contested to become the owner of the rector’s grant of KAZGUU.

Another possibility to receive free professional training in a leading law university of the country was presented to graduates of secondary schools, lyceums, gymnasiums and colleges of Kazakhstan. Talents of art competition finalists, which has already become traditional, were evaluated by members of a competent jury, which consisted of Talgat Narikbayev, Chairman of the Board of JSC KAZGUU University, Murat Abenov, Deputy Chairman of the NCE Atameken, Nurlan Alimzhanov, honored artist, actor of stage and screen.

Chairmen of the jury assessed creativity of the contestants, their personal achievements, the presence of comments about competitors by prominent public figures and creative approach to the creation of the University’s image. Another important criterion for getting into the final was the maximum number of actual views, likes, video reposts on social networks as Youtube, Facebook, Vkontakte. All members of the jury noted a fairly high level preparation of the participants, despite their young age. Five absolute leaders, corresponding to all competitive criteria were identified after voting. The finalists are:

5. Arsen Zeynelgabdenuly Kuanyshev (Astana city, school-lyceum №15)

The certificate for a 20% discount for studies at KAZGUU University was awarded to a participant Anel Khamitova (Karaganda city, NIS) 

All other participants are contenders for a 10% discount.

On April 15, 2016 the Board of Trustees held a meeting, where the criteria for awarding grants from the Corporate Fund Endowment KAZGUU have been developed. According to the criteria, the children from large families, single-parent families, orphans, children with one parent, children deprived of parental care can be candidates of a grant. Special attention is given to students who have poor financial status, excellent academic achievements and actively involved in University life. Also, the Board of Trustees has established the Commission consisting of 4 members and the patron provided a grant for awarding grants at the meeting. In the first place the views and wishes of the patron will be taken into account.  

We are glad to announce that the first patron Narikbaeva Zhibek Maxutovna, after the Endowment KAZGUU Commission’s meeting on May 25, 2016 has awarded a grant to the applicant, 1st year student of the Higher School of Law majoring in International Law – Gavrilova Vladislava Vyacheslavovna.
